Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) announced its Q2 2026 business results with positive growth in both revenue and cargo volume, driven by improved container demand on most major trade routes, particularly the Asia-America route.<\/p>\n

Revenue Increased by Nearly 20%, Output Exceeded 2.1 Million TEU<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the second quarter of 2026, OOCL's container shipping revenue reached US$2.54 billion, a 19.81% increase year-on-year.<\/p>\n

Shipping volume reached 2.14 million TEU, an increase of 8.81 TP3T, while loadable capacity increased by 6.31 TP3T. Thanks to improved demand, the load factor increased by 1.9 percentage points, and average revenue per TEU increased by 10.11 TP3T compared to the same period in 2025.<\/p>\n

The Asia-America route is a major growth driver.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Trans-Pacific route continued to be OOCL's fastest-growing market in the second quarter.<\/p>\n

The volume transported on this route reached 608,979 TEU, an increase of 21.51 TP3T compared to the same period last year, while revenue increased by 29.31 TP3T, reaching 973.7 million USD.<\/p>\n

This result reflects the continued high demand for trans-Pacific shipping as many businesses increase imports in anticipation of changes in US trade policy and tariffs.<\/p>\n

The Asia-Europe route continues its upward trend.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the Asia-Europe route, OOCL transported 386,513 TEU, an increase of 6.91 TP3T compared to the same period last year.<\/p>\n

Revenue on this route reached $520.9 million, an increase of 17.6%, indicating that transportation demand remains positive despite fluctuations in the global logistics market.<\/p>\n

Transatlantic shipping routes face pressure from rising freight rates.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For the Trans-Atlantic route, business is generally stable.<\/p>\n

Shipping volume increased slightly by 1.81 TP3T, however revenue decreased by 1.31 TP3T, to $191.5 million, reflecting pressure on freight rates on this route.<\/p>\n

Inner Asia and Oceania Continue to Grow<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the Intra-Asia & Australasia region, OOCL recorded a shipping volume of 989,215 TEU, an increase of 3.91 TP3T compared to the same period last year.<\/p>\n

Revenue on the route reached $850.8 million, an increase of 16.8%, continuing to make a significant contribution to the airline's overall business results.<\/p>\n

Cumulative growth continues for the first six months of the year.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the first six months of 2026, OOCL achieved $4.68 billion in container shipping revenue, a 5.51% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
\nTotal cargo volume reached 4.13 million TEU, an increase of 5.21 TP3T, while cargo capacity increased by 5.31 TP3T.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, the load factor decreased slightly by 0.1 percentage points, while average revenue per TEU increased by only 0.21 TP3T compared to the same period last year.<\/p>\n

OOCL also noted that the above figures are based on internal governance reports and have not been audited or reviewed by an independent auditing firm.<\/p>\n
